HIV rapid test

In contrast to the HIV laboratory test, where the blood is sent to the laboratory for examination and the result is only available after a week, the HIV rapid test already provides a result after 20 minutes.

Everything important in brief:

• "HIV rapid test" means: A drop of blood from the fingertip is sufficient. After the blood sample has been taken, the result is available after 20 minutes and you will be informed verbally.
• If the HIV rapid test reacts, blood is taken from the arm vein and a confirmation test is done in the laboratory. You will know the result after one week.
• There must be at least 12 weeks between the possible risk contact and the HIV rapid test for the result to be considered reliable. We advise: Wait 12 weeks after the possible risk contact before you get tested with us!
• We offer qualified counselling with every test and help to assess the risk of HIV transmission.
• As the test is anonymous, we do not issue a certificate.
