Systemic counseling
Systemic counseling is a solution- and resource-oriented approach that helps you to look at problems (symptoms) from a new perspective. It takes into account not only you as an individual, but also your social environment, your life history and your values.
Possible topics that we can help you with through systemic counseling are
- Sexuality & sexual health
- Relationship & partnership
- Sexual orientation & gender identity
- Coming out & discrimination
We look at these or similar topics, issues and problems together with you. As counselors, we do not look at your concerns in isolation, but in context. Our role is to point out other perspectives, raise awareness of existing resources and develop new options for action and attitudes together with you.
Counseling can take place once or over several sessions. There is no obligation to attend a certain number of sessions. Counseling can be ended at any time. Individual counseling usually lasts 60 minutes, couples counseling 90 minutes. Counseling is free of charge.
Our counselors are both undergoing training in systemic counseling, which ends with certification from the German Society for Systemic Therapy, Counseling and Family Therapy (DGSF).
Katja Sariyannis is training to become a systemic counselor at the ISTN Karlsruhe - Institute for Systemic Counseling, Therapy and Supervision.
Kevin Wolf is completing the training course "Systemic counseling in the context of queer life realities", which is run by Sobi - Sozialpädagogisches Bildungswerk Münster - at the queer educational institution Akademie Waldschlösschen.
